Dopo il grande successo di "Skinty Fia", terzo album dei Fontaines D.C., band post-punk irlandese fondata a Dublino nel 2017, è in arrivo il nuovo disco intitolato "Romance" preannunciato dal singolo di lancio "Starburster".

Il videoclip di "Starburster" è stato scritto e diretto da Aube Perrie. Il brano mescola elementi hip hop, elettronica e new wave. Una miscellanea di generi scelta anche dagli Imagine Dragons con l'energica Eyes Closed.

Il brano è nato dopo un attacco di panico vissuto dal frontman principale, Grian Chatten mentre si trovava all'interno della metropolitana St Pancras di Londra. Il cantante da anni soffre di depressione, problemi d'ansia e insonnia che non ha mai nascosto al pubblico, ma che ha interiorizzato in sue numerose produzioni.

Al momento si è definito in numerose interviste nel pieno "processo di guarigione" mentre il quintetto si prepara per il nuovo tour 2024 in giro per il mondo. Nel video musicale è presente un omaggio al videogioco Final Fantasy: il protagonista ha con sé una Buster Sword, il celebre spadone del personaggio Cloud Strife dal settimo capitolo della saga.

I Fontaines D.C. si esibiranno per un'esclusiva data in Italia al Prima Estate Festival, tra i big dell'evento insieme a Jane's Addiction e Kasabian. Il gruppo, che avrebbe dovuto suonare live "Skinty Fia" potrebbe portare anche brani inediti tratti dal nuovo album "Romance", in uscita il 23 agosto 2024.
